Wow. I am both happy and sad that this thing never made it over to the USA.

Give it normal headlights I think it would be fine. Rather have the sedan, but fine.

I knew it existed, and I'm not happy, just sad that we never got it. In fact, that's when BMW totally stopped selling us 4-cylinder cars until lifting the 4-cylinder moratorium for the F30.

The 318ti is the second-best BMW ever. Lots of space, good gas mileage, sporty, and prestigious.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on prestigious. Whenever I saw one, I always recognized that they had bought the cheapest BMW out there. I like the car though.

323ti=awesome

The E36, which is much nicer looking IMO, made it over here in the form of the 318ti. It came with the same 1.8 block from the E30 in '95, but was switched to a more efficient 1.9 after that after a switch to OBDII. Apparently it handles better than an NA miata, despite E30 rear suspension for space and cost savings. My neighbor has had one since new, and I want to ask if she's willing to sell because it seems she's taken good care of it. The looks aren't the best, but they are unique and I think this is a future classic. Maybe PG will do an article on it sometime. I will leave this here.
